MARIO project case study featured on eHealth Ireland

ehealth Ireland logoThe MARIO Project has been featured on eHealth Ireland's website, to demonstrate the potential role that robots may play in reducing isolation and loneliness in people with dementia.

eHealth Ireland aims to bring 'improved population wellbeing, health service efficiencies and economic opportunity through the use of technology enabled solutions'. The eHealth Ireland website has published numerous case studies of projects and initiatives that highlight the benefits of eHealth technology to patients and clinicians.


Professor Dympna Casey presents MARIO project at European Parliament seminar

DC European Parliament ABProfessor Dympna Casey, MARIO project lead, of the School of Nursing & Midwifery NUI Galway, was invited to speak about the MARIO project at the European Parliament seminar "Connecting Lives: The Digital Single Market - achievements and challenges", which was held in Brussels on the 6th of February 2019.

Prof. Dympna Casey at 28th Alzheimer Europe Conference

Alzheimer EuropeProf. Dympna Casey presented the MARIO Project at the 28th Alzheimer Europe Conference in Barcelona, discussing the potential role of companion robots in combatting loneliness in people living with dementia.

DHEW 2018 logoThis week, Professor Dympna Casey was presenting at the DHEW Autumn Event - Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, which was held at the Life Sciences Hub Wales in Cardiff Bay on Tuesday 18th September.

The event aims to showcase ground-breaking health and care innovation currently taking place across Europe using Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, providing valuable learning and inspiration to eco-system partners.

IHA2018 shorlistThis week, the MARIO Project was shortlisted for the 2018 Irish Healthcare Awards! The Irish Healthcare Awards celebrate and recognise innovation, excellence and achievement in the Irish healthcare sector. The MARIO Project was shortlisted under the catergory 'Best Use of Information Technology'.

The winners will be announced at a black tie gala dinner taking place on the 17 October 2018, at The Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin.
